Step-by-step occasional rental process in Poland
Occasional rental procedure — 6 steps
1. Negotiate and choose an apartment
Tenant and landlord agree on terms. Landlord informs about occasional rental requirement.
2. Designate a substitute address
Tenant designates a property they can move to after the lease ends and provides the substitute property owner's statement.

3. Notary visit
Sign the occasional rental notarial deed and tenant's enforcement submission statement.
4. Move in
After signing, tenant receives keys and moves in.
5. Lease period
Tenant uses the property per agreement terms.
6. Lease end and possible enforcement
Tenant vacates voluntarily or landlord initiates enforcement under Art. 777.
Timeline
- Substitute address documents: 24 hours (scan)
- Notarial deed: 1 notary visit
- Post-lease enforcement: 2–6 months (vs 6–18+ for standard lease)
